If you’ve followed my journey, you know I’ve been selling HYDRATE, my clean electrolyte powder, on Amazon since launch. What you might not know is how frustrating the past couple of weeks have been.
The Backstory
A couple weeks ago, I got an email from Amazon saying my account was “at risk of deactivation” because they believed I had offered compensation for reviews.
Here’s the thing — I’ve never done that. Not once. I take their policies seriously and have never knowingly violated them. But when I asked what evidence they had, their policy is not to tell you. You just get a vague notice and have to submit an appeal.
I explained my side, detailed how I collect reviews (which is simply by delivering a good product people love), and waited. The frustrating part? You have no control over the process, no ability to get clear answers, and the threat of losing your entire sales channel hangs over your head.
The Hard Pill to Swallow
I thought Amazon was the place to be. They have the traffic, the reach, and the trust of millions of shoppers. But this situation made me realize just how little control you actually have as a seller. One vague email can put your whole business at risk — no matter how hard you’ve worked or how above-board you’ve been.
It was hard to swallow, but I’ve decided to focus on what I can control.
Where I’m Headed Next
Moving forward, my energy is shifting to my own website.
-
Facebook and Instagram ads will be my first big push, sending traffic directly to my site.
-
I’m also going to test TikTok Shop to tap into a new audience.
-
And most importantly, I’m building a better buying experience for my customers — one that I can own from start to finish.
Why Website Sales Are Better
On Amazon, you’re just another listing. On my own site, I can:
-
Tell the full Renegade Regen story.
-
Control the visuals, messaging, and product education.
-
Build a direct relationship with customers instead of handing them to a third-party marketplace.
-
Create special offers, bundles, and content that actually help people — without worrying about someone else’s rules.
The New Game Plan
I’m done stressing over things I can’t control. My focus now is simple:
✅ Serve my customers better.
✅ Grow through channels I can own.
✅ Keep improving HYDRATE and future products.
Amazon may still be a piece of the puzzle, but it’s no longer the whole picture.
💧 If you’ve been thinking about trying HYDRATE, now’s the time. You can order directly from me, get a better experience, and know that your support goes straight into growing a brand built for athletes who refuse to quit.
